What's Going On? September 25th through September 29th
Thought for the Week Wrapping Up Topic 2: Probability Concepts and the Normal Distribution This week, we will be wrapping up our study of topic 2. In this topic, we talked about how to calculate the likelihood of certain events happening. At the beginning of this week, we will talk about how the probability of events can be connected to the "normal" curve. We will talk about some new probability concepts such as "standard deviation" and the "empirical rule" as it applies to "normal distribution". Students will wrap up their study of topic 2 with a summative assessment during our third class for the week. Our summative assessment will include three different learning targets: Communication, Application, and Procedure. As a reminder, summative assessments will account for 45% of a student's grade and we do not offer a retake as a separate event. However, for every few topics, students will be assessed using a "benchmark". ...
