Thought for the Week Topic 16: Trigonometric Functions As we return from spring break, we will spend a little bit of time reviewing concepts related to right triangles.  We will practice solving for missing sides and missing angle measurements using right triangle patterns.  We will then move on to a more in-depth look at the sine and cosine functions.  At the end of the week, we will spend some time talking about how we can modify the sine and cosine functions with transformations.

What's Going On? March 11th through March 15th

Thought for the Week Preparing for our Benchmark : Topic 15 This week, we will prepare for our first benchmark assessment of the semester.  So far, we have learned about exponential equations and logarithms.  For our benchmark, students will put all of the pieces together in order to solve equations and inequalities that involve logarithms.  Throughout the week, we will practice solving log equations and review for our benchmark assessment.  Students who would like a little bit of extra help are invited to check in with me during JIT A.

What's Going On? March 4th though March 8th

Thought for the Week Wrapping Up Topic 14 and Beginning Topic 15 On Monday, students will spend time reviewing for our topic 14 summative assessment on logarithms.  During our summative test on Tuesday, students will demonstrate their ability to: Convert exponential expressions to logarithmic expressions Convert logarithmic expressions to exponential expressions Graph exponential and log equations and discuss their features Use property of logs to expand and condense expressions Once we wrap this up, students will move on to topic 15.  At the end of this unit, students will complete a benchmark   assessment .  During topic 15, students will learn how to use logarithms to solve equations and inequalities.  We have been working toward this goal over the past several topics, and now we can finally put all of the pieces together.  During our third class of the week, students will learn how to solve logarithmic equations using tables and graphs.  At the end...
