Modified Schedule for Our Short Week:  This week, our schedule will look a little different.  On Monday, we will run a FRIDAY schedule.  The rest of the week will run as normal.  However, on Thursday, we will have a shortened schedule due to our early release day.  All students will have a day off on Friday.  Enjoy your February break!






Wrapping Up Topic 13: Inverse Functions

This week, students will prepare for our summative assessment on Inverse Functions.  During our first class of the week, students will spend some time learning how to find the inverse of a function. This will include how to find the inverse of an exponential function.  During our second class, we will review.  In our last class for the week, students will complete our topic 13 summative.

Thought for the Week   Modified Schedule for the Week.  As a reminder, Freshmen and Sophomores will complete the ACT Secure and Juniors will complete the ACT on Tuesday, April 9th.  This will lead to a modified schedule for the rest of the week.  Monday will be a "Tuesday"-style schedule.  On Tuesday, we will complete standardized testing.  The rest of the week will proceed as scheduled. Topic 16: Trigonometric Functions On Monday of this week, we will take a brief break from our topic 16 study to focus on some tips and tricks for completing the math portion of the ACT.  Students will be encouraged to practice working with the Desmos calculator, which has been built-in to the online version of the ACT.  We will also review some important concepts and talk about how to narrow down our answer choices. For the rest of the week, we will take a look at "Exploring Tangents" and start reviewing for our summative assessment.

What's Going On? February 26th through March 1st

   Thought for the Week Parent-Teacher Conferences Topic 14: Logarithmic Functions This week, we will continue our study of the properties of logs.  We will continue our practice of condensing, and also expanding, log functions.  We will also apply this practice to natural logs .  These are the logs with a base of "e".

What's Going On? April 2nd through April 5th

   Thought for the Week Topic 16: Trigonometric Functions As we return from spring break, we will spend a little bit of time reviewing concepts related to right triangles.  We will practice solving for missing sides and missing angle measurements using right triangle patterns.  We will then move on to a more in-depth look at the sine and cosine functions.  At the end of the week, we will spend some time talking about how we can modify the sine and cosine functions with transformations.
